SpamAssassin - Eudora

This example is taken from Eudora 5.1, and assumes you've created a folder named "Spam" that you want to move the potential junk mail into.

From the Eudora menu, select Tools/Filters

Example of menu selection

The Filter panel will appear, click the "New" button to create a new filter

Example of starting a new rule

The various fields in the panel will become un-grayed, fill in the fields as highlighted below. After selecting the Transfer To" action, a button will appear to the right of that action. Clicking on it will give you access to a list of folders that exist in your mail account, allowing you to select your "Spam" folder.

Example of filling in rule settings

Which basically boils down to telling Eudora: for incoming mail, if any header contains "Spam-Score=*****", transfer it to the "Spam" folder.

Close the Filter panel by clicking on the lower "X" button in the upper-right corner of the window

Example of closing rule window

You'll be asked if you want to "Save Changes to Filters?" Click YES and you're done.

To remove the filter, go back to the filter panel by selecting "Tools/Filters" from the menu, highlight the line that starts with "<<Any Header>>Spam-Score=", and click the "Remove" button. Close the panel and click YES when asked about saving changes.

If you want to get fancy, you can perform additional actions such as playing sounds when spam is filtered - we'll leave that for you to explore.
